Summer Separation Policy

PLEASE NOTE: The Separation Policy for the Summer Session is entirely different from the Academic Year Policy.

Summer Session registration dates and deadlines are listed on the Summer Session website. Dates to add or drop a course are calculated based on the start and end dates of each course. Students must review their courses to determine the actual add/drop deadlines. Drop deadlines will be extended to the next business day if they fall on a weekend.

Current and visiting students may drop summer courses through InsideND/NOVO or via eForms, depending on the drop timeframe. This guide provides detailed information on how to drop classes. To be eligible for a tuition refund, the class must be dropped before the first drop deadline (Refund Deadline). If a course is dropped after this deadline, no tuition refund will be issued.

Students enrolled in a summer professional program (e.g., ESTEEM, ACMS, Global EMBA, ACE) are charged a program rate, regardless of the number of classes in which they are registered. Suppose a course is dropped, but the student remains registered for another course during their summer professional program. In that case, no tuition adjustment will be made for the dropped course, as the student is still enrolled in the summer program.
